Directorate of Staff Development
(DSD) is committed to improve the quality of learning in public
schools in coordination with its partners in both public and
non public sectors. One of the main areas of emphasis is capacity
building of staff at all institutions of teacher professional
development, i.e. DSD, PITE, GCETs, DTSCs and CTSCs. DSD came
to exist in 2004 with a restructured organizational structure
and redefined roles and functions. It became imperative for
DSD to develop expertise of trainers and others involved in
the professional development of teachers.
Over the past 3 years DSD has
paid special attention to this concern. DSD offers opportunities
for professional growth to the staff of teacher training institutions
especially trainers, Heads of GCETs and DTSCs, LTEs, DTEs,
material developers, quality managers and educational managers,
and, district governments (EDOs). Certified courses organized
by institutions, public or private, both national and international
are regularly offered. Institution wise details of participants
who have attended professional development courses/ conferences/
study tours in specific areas are shown in the table below:
